What is Mesh for?

The answer is Yes, you can use Mesh to meet new people your age!

Have you ever wanted to spend time with people you normally wouldn’t hang out with? Are you making a life transition that has made it difficult to make friends in your area? Does the adventurous part of you want to explore new places, but you haven’t found enough interesting friends? Are you just looking to push yourself outside of your comfort zone? Do you work remote? Are you sick of dating apps being the only way to meet people? Do you like to support local? Sound interesting? Let’s get started!

Mesh is all about real and authentic connection in a local setting. We want to make it easier and faster for you to meet new people. We want you to be able to connect with people and explore your city through a local setting. Mesh does this by pairing you with three other people who have liked the same places as you and then sending you to that place.

Is my City on Mesh?

Yes, your city is on Mesh! If it’s not, sign up as “other” for your city and send us a text that we should add your city! We are super excited to announce that you can sign up for the top 50 cities!

We think everyone should have the opportunity to meet cool new people in their city and also support local businesses along the way!

How did Mesh get started?

Mesh was started by Co-Founders Michael and Stuart. They met at Saint Louis University, where they both attended college. While on a spring break trip, a chance conversation brought Mesh to life from Michael’s idea journal. They’ve been working on it ever since! They started beta testing while in college and came out with the pilot version of Mesh on April 1, 2024 (no joke). It started with one successful TikTok video, many late nights keeping track of everyone on Excel sheets, and lots of making little Photoshop images of the first groups and manually texting each individual person through texting software. About 12 weeks later, they launched the app version of Mesh, and now anyone can sign up in over 40 cities!

Our founding principles are that people are fantastic and that nothing beats in person. We think invitations are important, so we choose to invite you to meet new people, get outside of your comfort zone, and have fun with life!

What if I had ideas on how to improve Mesh?

That's amazing! We would love to hear about it, as we are constantly making Mesh better! Reach out to us here! One of the things that makes Mesh different is the community! People reach out to us all the time and have great suggestions! We do our best to read every text, email, etc, and then try to implement it!

How can I have the best time?

First of all, be you. There is no one else like you, which is what makes you so much fun to be around. Smile. A big smile goes a long way. Fun fact: it actually sends endorphins to your brain that make you happier and relieve stress. Finally, have fun. This is your chance to try out that new coffee shop or tell three new people about the new show you just started watching! If you act confident but not cocky, people won't notice that you are nervous. They are probably nervous as well. So go out, and have a great time!

How many places are there?

Right now, there are over 50 curated locations to select from to explore and make great memories, but if you have any suggestions, we would love to hear them! You can tell us about them here! If you’re a local coffee shop we would love to partner with you!

How do I take the best profile image?

Use a simple background.

Don’t hide your face; you’re beautiful.

Natural lighting works best, or make sure your face is well-lit.

Finally, smile.

Mesh isn’t about first impressions; it’s about connection.

How do I report someone?

We are sorry that your experience wasn't everything you had imagined. The easiest way to report someone is to just text us about your experience, and we will get back to you as soon as possible: +1‪ (608) 285-2027‬ you can also report that person’s profile if you click on their image and then click the little arrow icon under their profile image!

What if I feel unsafe?

Safety is our number one priority. If you are in a life-threatening emergency, call 911 immediately, or if you see someone in a life-threatening emergency, call 911. Mesh is designed to be safe by being in public locations and meeting in groups of four, but because you are interacting with real people, trust your gut and take the necessary steps to ensure your experience is both fun and comfortable.
